LEARN TO SWIM
Preschool
Our Preschool level is the starting point for swimmers under 5 years old. Swimmers can start as young as 2.5 years old when the teacher is in the pool with the class as no parents are in the pool with the class. During lessons swimmers will use the aids provided to develop water confidence and basics such as kicking, floating, and blowing bubbles. The maximum number of swimmers per Preschool class is four, with a maximum of one 2.5 year old.​

Foundation
Generally, our Foundation level is for non-swimmers that are at least 5 years old but water confident 4 year olds can also join a Foundation class. No previous swimming experience is required at this stage. During lessons swimmers will use the aids provided to build water confidence and basic technique for front crawl and back crawl. Once swimmers are ready they will also have the opportunity to practice swimming short distances with no aids to build confidence and technique swimming unaided in preparation for moving up to the Beginner level. The maximum number of swimmers per Foundation class is four.

Beginner
Swimmers must be able to confidently swim front crawl and back crawl unaided for at least 5 metres to join a Beginner class. Depending on the venue layout, swimmers may not be able to stand in the lesson tank. During lessons swimmers will be building on technique for front crawl and back crawl and will be introduced to breaststroke and butterfly. Aids will be used to help improve technique along with unaided swims. The maximum number of swimmers per Beginner class is five.

Minimum requirements: Must be able to confidently swim at least 5 metres front crawl and back crawl unaided in deeper water.

Improver
Swimmers must be able to confidently swim front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke unaided for at least 10 metres and butterfly for at least 5 metres to join an Improver class. The lessons take place in the deep end of the pool. During lessons swimmers will continue to build on technique for all four strokes along with developing aquatic skills such as sculling, handstands and somersaults in preparation for stroke turns. The maximum number of swimmers per Improver class is six.

Minimum requirements: Must be able to confidently swim at least 10 metres front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and 5 metres butterfly unaided in deep water.

Advanced
Swimmers must be able to confidently swim front crawl, back crawl, and breaststroke unaided for at least 25 metres and butterfly for at least 10 metres maintaining good technique throughout to join an Advanced class. During lessons swimmers will continue to develop technique for all four strokes and will also begin to include starts and turns for all four strokes during their swims. Distance swims will be introduced to improve stamina and overall fitness. The maximum number of swimmers per Advanced class is eight.

Minimum requirements: Must be able to confidently swim at least 25 metres front crawl, back crawl, breaststroke and 10 metres butterfly maintaining good technique throughout.

Elite
Swimmers must be able to confidently swim continuously for 400 metres, at least 50 metres of each of the four strokes, maintaining good technique throughout to join an Elite class. During lessons swimmers will be focusing on improving technique for all four strokes and improving stamina and overall fitness. The maximum number of swimmers per Elite class is ten.
Maximum class number: 10
Minimum requirements: Must be able to confidently swim 400 metres continuously, at least 50 metres of each of the four strokes, maintaining good technique throughout.
